Herman Cain for 2012 US President Candidate?

Bookmark and Share

Who is not familiar with Herman Cain? He is a minister at Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta. He also a former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza (1992-94). He has written a syndicated newspaper column, authored books and hosted radio shows. He also has twice, unsuccessfully, sought major office, running for president in 2000 and for Senate in Georgia in 2004.

Herman Cain has raised controversy over his statements about Muslims. Asked in March whether he would, if elected president, appoint a Muslim to his administration or as a judge, Cain responded: “No, I will not … There’s this creeping attempt, there’s this attempt, to gradually ease Shariah Law, and the Muslim faith into our government. It does not belong in our government,” according to Fox News.

Herman Cain shook up the field by winning 37 percent of the nearly 2,600 votes cast by hardcore Republican activists at the end of Presidency 5 – a three-day event to showcase Florida’s role in picking the eventual GOP nominee.
Despite his victory in the Florida straw poll, Cain has yet to rise nationally. The most recent CNN/ORC International Poll shows him with 7 percent support among Republicans and independents, leaving him tied with Ron Paul and (undeclared) Sarah Palin for fourth place.
With his varying of success and controversy, whether Cain can be one of the USA presidential candidates? We wait for the continuation of the story of 'Cain for President'.
